Prepare for Hurricane Florence

As the East Coast begins to prepare for the arrival of Hurricane Florence, we wanted to share some tips to help prepare your home for any related weather we may receive.
Prepare for Hurricane Florence
  • Clear your areaway drain and gutters of any visible debris. It will be important to continue to check on these throughout any storms.
  • Be prepared for any high winds by securing anything that could blow away and cause damage to your home or other homes in the neighborhood.
  • With heavy rainfall the operation of your sump pump is essential, please make sure no other appliances are plugged into the sump outlet to prevent overloading the circuit.
  • Please remember that during a severe rainstorm and/or Hurricane, wind driven rain will seep through windows and doors that typically don’t leak otherwise. This will likely only occur during severe weather.
  • Make sure to have your Homeowner Insurance and other emergency contact information readily available, even for items such as roof shingles or siding blowing off your home.
  • For current road conditions: call 511 or visit
  • Report road problems: 1-800-FOR-ROADS (367-7623)
  • Follow VDOT and VDOTNOVA on Twitter
  • Call 911 in a true emergency.

Dental Implants & You

Dental implants represent the closest thing to a natural tooth. In fact, no dental restoration comes even remotely close to dental implants in terms of their ability to recreate a missing tooth!

If you lost a tooth years ago or even need to have a tooth removed today, a dental implant will recreate the appearance of your own tooth. Most patients return to work or school the day after the procedure!

Dr. Mark M. Armanious is a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, conveniently located in the Gum Spring Library Building right here in Stone Ridge.
